Fire Prevention Week Blog

I saw this advertised in our village newsletter... and could hardly believe that the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) started a blog to distribute information for Fire Prevention Week (Oct 8-14) this year. http://firepreventionweek.blogspot.com

The blog even features a photo of nearby Glenwood, IL fire dept public education officers.

I like how they edited the Blogger template to say "post a comment or read comments" which encourages action and participation instead of the generic 'comments'.

People are actually adding comments, posting their own cooking disaster stories! (psst Rochelle, you should link to your account of the mac & cheese story!)
What a great way to drive home the message, and reinforce it COULD happen to you. Real stories from real people, which in turn will serve as real life examples for preventing these type of careless accidents.

Way to go NFPA!
