"E-Mail is Square"

Information Week article titled "Teenagers Say IM's Cool, E-Mail's Square"

Did the teens really use the word "square?"

interesting snippets:
(nearly) 9/10 teens use the internet,
half of 21 million teen users use the internet every day

Teen use customized 'away messages' to keep in touch with friends.

Looking for Wireless?

Check out MetroFreeFi!

The searchable site lists free WiFi sites in Chicago and the suburbs!
The built in Google maps are a nice touch.

Most WiFi hotspots in the suburbs (according to this list)...Evanston.

No WiFi for our brary yet. :(

Very surprised to see Galena, IL on the list...
I had no idea The Irish Cottage had wifi. They're a great place to visit!
Great live music, super atmosphere, and many many of their super friendly staff is just-off-the-boat from the Emerald Isle.
My suggestion though: Leave the laptop at home and as Michael would say "unplug!" Relax and have a few pints!

Switchin'

Hello to you seven readers in Bloglines... and the undetermined number of other readers using other aggregators.

I'm going to give Feedburner a try.

Here's the new feed URL. http://feeds.feedburner.com/braryWebDiva

Thanks for your cooperation in updating to the new feed. :)

I'm using this blog as a test to see if I want to switch to feedburner to gather some stats for my library blogs...since I don't seem to have many subscribers to those in my community yet, and that won't inconvenience too many people...yet.
