LJ moves Rachel Singer Gordon to online only, no RSS feed available
originally seen on PubLib (posted by Heather McCormack, Managing Editor, LJ Book Review)
This week, LJ moved its longtime Computer Media column by Rachel Singer Gordon to its website. Check out the first installment at the following address: http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6381661.html
They expect us to visit the website once a month? :-P*
Also online only http://www.libraryjournal.com/article/CA6377111.html
Both of these important articles need RSS feeds, and LJ is nice enough to have comments open.

I'm excited they'll be available online, as I'm way at the bottom of the routing list for our copy of LJ, but the technology will be old by the time I remember to check the site!

This is precisely the concern/debate that's cropped up on one of my mailing lists after this was announced (I think Collib-L?), anyway it's flat-out rediculous to assume that people will remember to check the darned thing without a reminder of some sort, particularly an RSS fees. Assuming of course that you read LJ through your personal sub and not a library-wide subscription that routes through everyone's inboxes before hitting the shelf. Not to be catty here, but Kudos to one of our highest circulating Library publications on making a very popular set of information (RSG's columns) LESS ACCESSIBLE.
*sigh*

Sigh... I know! They're working on creating a feed, and in the meantime I'll continue to announce new columns at the Liminal Librarian - http://www.lisjobs.com/liminal/ and elsewhere.

Thanks Rachel for making sure we have access via a feed until LJ makes one available!
